I've taken my own advice to "leverage my money.":http://alexpooley.com/articles/2005/10/30/its-about-time I have placed an advertisement on "Elance.com":http://elance.com because I need some work done that I don't have the time or inclination to do myself, and many other people are capable of.
Placing an advertisement on Elance was really easy and did not cost anything. I simply had to fill in the various advertisement details, and then submit my credit card details to prove I was over 18 and credible. I have been following Elance for well over a year now so I feel they have some credibility. People are now bidding to work on the job I posted. After a week (this is configurable) I will decide to pick one of the bidders based on their proposed price, company profile, and Elance work history. You don't actually have to pick one of the bidders if they don't meet your criteria.
There's a fairly large talent pool available on Elance that ranges from translators through to software developers. There are projects that range from $50 through to $50,000+.
I'll keep you posted on how this works out.
