Erratic Server Statistics

I don't have much to say today, I'm absolutely stuffed. Everything seems to be winding down now as we approach Christmas and thank goodness for that! I thought I'd share some site statistics with you... _Note: The reason both graphs show a really bad count for the most recent day is because that day hasn't been counted completely yet._ *"FunkyGorillas.com":http://www.funkygorillas.com* This image is my reviews site that I'm experimenting with. The numbers are somewhat skewed because I have paid "handytraffic":http://alexpooley.com/articles/2005/12/05/handytraffic to send people through to the site. Keep in mind that they have only sent through 230 odd visitors so far. Overall, I like the way the data is looking. It's interesting to note, that when "I stabilised my servers by substituting MySQL for SQLite":http://alexpooley.com/articles/2005/12/03/typo-and-sqlite the server numbers became a little less erratic. It's still hard to say for sure though as I was gaining visitors on and off using paid listing in Google's Adwords before this period. *"This Blog":http://www.alexpooley.com* This blogs visitor/page count has been very erratic. I would expect this from a young site as a few plus or minus visitors is a large proportion of the absolute count. It's worth noting that like my reviews site above, the site count has stabilised since I moved to "MySQL from SQLite.":http://alexpooley.com/articles/2005/12/03/typo-and-sqlite It's still early days though and there's definitely not enough sampling to draw any conclusions. If there's anything I have learned in the last week or so, it's that I need to be more clinical with my methodology. For example, trying something for one week, then trying something else the next week and keeping track of what works and what doesn't work. I don't regret stuffing around in the last couple of weeks though, I've learned heaps and I've explored what's possible. Now it's just a matter of refining.
