First of all, just a heads up for those of you watching Apple and their stock.
"Apple CEO Steve Jobs' keynote at 9:00 AM Pacific Time on Tuesday, January 10, 2005.":http://www.macworld.com/news/2006/01/05/exhibitors/index.php
That makes it 1 AM Wednesday January 11 2005 for me... youch.
Now, here's something a bit more juicy...
"Reports":http://news.ft.com/cms/s/1db3e1ee-7706-11da-a7d1-0000779e2340.html are coming out claiming an impressive spike in MP3 downloads during the last week in December. No doubt as a result of all the MP3 player purchases for Christmas. At the bottom of the linked article they mention that Sony has done very well selling MP3's as a result of selling their latest bunch of walkman style MP3 capable phones. This looks a lot like the Gillette business model, you know the one - sell razors dirt cheap and lock them in to purchasing blades?
From the above article Apple iTunes eclipses all other content providers at the moment, with Sony in second place. Apple _must_ release a phone capable iPod or they will lose the ground they have put between themselves and everyone else.
