I’ve noticed two significant niches that are slowly bubbling their way to popularity. The first is Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). UFC is a full contact sport similar to boxing, but you can kick, elbow, grapple, etc. It’s insane, and it certainly has a long way to run. Currently I believe it’s only viewable as pay per view, but I remember seeing the CEO mention that after recently overcoming a few legal issues, 2007 is going to be the year for UFC.

The other trend is global warming. I suspect the topic has received a serious push thanks to Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth [aff] documentary. Richard Branson has also pledged lots of cash to fight the issue, and the media and political awareness seems to be on the rise.

Did you know that switching one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent bulb will supposedly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 68 kilograms (150 pounds) ?? I’ve started a new website called Stop Global Warming. Global warming is affecting everyone this very minute, yet the scare campaigns, and disinformation is disguising the fact. Stop Global Warming hopes to cut through the guff.
